The Advanced Cast Steel Technology Forum

On May 11, 2023, the 19th Annual Sub-Forum of the China Casting Association, specifically the Advanced Cast Steel Technology Sub-Forum, was successfully conducted in Tianjin. During the event, Professor Liu Zhongli, who serves as the Dean of the School of Nuclear Equipment and Nuclear Engineering at Yantai University, presented a report on the progress made in the research and development of domestic pressurized water reactor nuclear island nuclear grade 1 steel casting.

In addition, Mu Jianhua, the Vice President of the China Foundry Association, delivered a report on "Prevention of PT defects after finishing of large-curved thin-wall hydroelectric blades." The report comprehensively analyzed the characteristics of PT spot defects and identified their root causes. Furthermore, it proposed various preventive measures, including the optimization of casting process parameters, prevention of deformations during the casting process, blade profile detection, and utilization of specialized heat treatment tools. These measures collectively enabled the achievement of high-quality manufacturing of large-curved thin-wall hydroelectric blades.

The discussion forum primarily focused on addressing several practical production challenges in the frontier field of cast steel. Moreover, it explored the future development and prospects of the industry. Giahar company actively participated in this discussion forum.
